Neuens Fredonia Lumber Company is the oldest company in Fredonia, and when founded, was known as the Fredonia Station, to reflect the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, which now runs through what is today known as Fredonia, Wisconsin.
The original lumber company was founded by Charles F. Cooley and John Race. The company started with a saw mill and turning mill in 1875. In 1880, a lumber yard and grain elevator were built on the site.
Then in 1907 the company was bought by E.P. Neuens, followed by Ziehr, Rezel, and Janik in 1977. Today Neuens Fredonia Lumber is owned by the Janik Family.
